91 graduates from the “Prof. Dr. Ivan Mitev” Branch of MU-Sofia in Vratsa received their bachelor’s degrees at a solemn ceremony today. These are 64 nurses, 10 midwives and 17 physician assistants, of which 21 with excellent results.

Among the official guests of the event were the rector of the Medical University-Sofia, Prof. Dr. Boycho Landzhov, MD, Deputy Minister of Health Dobromira Kareva, the director of the Scientific Research Institute at MU-Sofia, academician Vanyo Mitev, the director of the Medical College – Sofia, Prof. Maya Vizeva, the director of the National Center for Transfusion Hematology, Dr. Krasimira Terzieva, the director of the Vratsa General Hospital, Dr. Keti Tsenova, the executive director of the Botevgrad General Hospital, Dr. Dilyan Tomovski, as well as the chief nurses of the Vratsa General Hospital, Montana General Hospital, Vratsa General Hospital and others.

“As the director of the branch today, I feel extremely excited, because for me this is my first promotion, which I accept with great responsibility and honor. This is a moment when the efforts, work and determination of each of you receive well-deserved recognition,” said the director of the branch, Prof. Dr. Ralitsa Zlatanova, with great excitement.

The Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Boycho Landzhov, MD, stated in his greeting: “I believe that you will be responsible professionals who will find the delicate balance between the new and the truly significant, between the humane and the technological in medicine, between empathy and raw knowledge. I wish you much success and satisfaction from your efforts!”


Prof. Landzhov congratulated the relatives of the graduates, then addressed the teachers of the Branch “Prof. Dr. Ivan Mitev” – Vratsa with gratitude for their professionalism and selfless dedication to the education of the students. “Your work is the foundation on which young specialists will build their professional skills,” he emphasized.

A congratulatory address on behalf of the Minister of Health, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvi Kirilov, DM, was read by Deputy Minister Dobromira Kareva.

By decision of the Academic Council of MU-Sofia, 21 awards of 1,000 leva were awarded by the Student Council to graduates with excellent results during the period of professional training.

Their diplomas and awards were presented by the rector of the Medical University – Sofia, Prof. Dr. Boycho Landzhov.
